What can you do as a parent? Make it a point to know what your child's reading level and point goal is and read, read, read! Reading is so important to your child and it takes practice, so make sure that they are reading every day. Remember it doesn't have to be just books, it can be newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, or street signs. Reading is something that your child will do everyday for the rest of their lives! Library books issued to students are the responsibility of parents. Any book lost or damaged must be paid for before the student is allowed to check out additional books. (This carries over from year to year.) The mission of our library media program is to enable individuals to become information literate and effective lifelong readers.
